Fatal Crash Ends With House Arrest for Driver

A Calgary man has been given 2 years of house arrest for hitting and killing a Minnedosa man with a car in 2014.


In Brandon Court on Monday, Christopher Paul Palaschuk pled guilty to failing to stop at the scene of an accident along with dangerous driving causing death and bodily harm.


Palaschuk was leaving Rocking the Fields of Minnedosa when he struck and killed Shawn Cooper who was walking along Highway 262 with his sister Jennifer.


She was also hit and suffered an arm injury as a result.


Palaschuk was initially charged with impaired driving causing death.
