Public Forum Tonight on Proposed City Budget

The public will get a say tonight on the proposed 2017 city budget.

The budget will be presented at City Hall before the scheduled presentations and deliberations next weekend.

Councillor Jeff Fawcett tells CKLQ that one of the main talking points will be about recreation.

"There is a slight increase in recreation and arts. I know, for some, on the recreation end there's not enough of an increase because we've got a lot of thing sitting out there that we are not addressing yet."

Fawcett adds the flood conversation will once again be heated, "it always is, especially with the forecast for this Spring. We do have budgeted money going towards continued dike work, so we should be ready for that."

The public forum will commence at 7:00.
