Car Stolen, Set of Fire

Brandon Police were called twice Friday in relation to stolen vehicles in the city.


The first was a 1999 Chrysler Intrepid that was damaged on Laurel Bay.


The door had been pried open and the steering column was damaged in an attempt to steal the car.


Then second vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Corolla, was stolen from the 100 block of 7th Street.


The car was unlocked and the keys were in the ignition at the time it as stolen.


The owner called police after finding the car in a back lane between 24th and 25th Streets.


It's interior had been set on fire.


No arrests have been made in either case.
