Wheat Kings and Westman Products get WHL Awards


Defenseman Kale Clague is the lone Brandon Wheat King to named to the WHL All-star teams.

 

The 18 year old was named to the Eastern Conference first all star.

 

In 48 games this season Clague connected on 5 goals and 35 assists, he also took home a silver medal as a member of team Canada at the World Juniors.

 

Also getting recognition as Western Conferences second all star team was Strahclair's Morgan Geekie who rattled off 35 goals and 55 assists for the Tri-City Americans.

 

John Paddock of the Regina Pats has won not 1 but 2 awards.

 

The native of Oak River was named the Eastern Conferences Executive of the Year and Coach of the year.

 

Regina ended the season with the WHL's best record at 52-12-7-1 and ranked ranked number 2 by the CHL.
